Good Charlotte(狂野夏洛特)於1996年成軍於美國馬里蘭州，
主要成員為Madden雙胞胎兄弟(Joel&Benji)，
在2002年推出的第二張專輯"The Young and the Hopeless"，
成功地讓他們走紅於全球，
雙胞胎兄弟的和聲與略帶憤世忌俗的歌詞，
是他們當時能夠脫穎而出的特色，
當然雙胞胎都很帥(外國人眼光)大概也是原因之一。
而"The Young and the Hopeless"也是我非常推薦的Pop Punk入門專輯，
當年高中的我對這張專輯也是愛不釋手，
我人生中第一次嘗試翻譯歌詞大概就是從那時候開始。
要談GC就一定得談談Madden兄弟，
他們的父親在他們16歲時丟下他們離開了家庭，
因此他們的母親一人帶大了4個小孩(包括他們的長兄與妹妹)，
所以在當時它們家中的經濟情況是非常糟糕的，
這些相關的背景都可以在他們前兩張專輯的歌曲和歌詞中發現。
後來Joel與Benji在看完Beastie Boys的演唱會後決定組團，
之後更在母親的贊助下飛去加州，
並前往當時大多數龐克樂團起源的livehouse，
讓他們更加下定決心玩樂團，
並以兄弟為中心找來朋友Billy而開始了Good Charlotte。
而這次翻譯的這首歌其實是收錄在他們2000年的第一張同名專輯中，
一直都非常非常喜歡這首歌，
在覺得低潮、絕望時都會拿出來聽好激勵自己，
雙胞胎中的Benji表示：
"這首歌是關於從低潮的迴圈中跳脫而出，
然後克服他並且繼續往前"
