在2018年的The American Dream廣受好評的專輯後，
Trophy Eyes終於打破沉默推出新單曲，
MV特別找來WWE的摔角明星Seth Rollins跨刀演出。
從認識Trophy Eyes以來就很喜歡他們，
除了很久沒聽到好的Melodic Hardcore團之外，
主唱John寫的歌詞既寫實地殘酷又充滿情緒與情感，
也是我深深著迷的原因。
關於這首歌John表示:
"Figure Eight is about time lost.
Figure Eight是首關於浪費時間的歌曲，
It is the sound of a broken heart,
是心碎的聲音，
the deafening silence of a couple once in love,
是情侶在過去愛情中震耳欲聾的沉寂，
and a fleeting dream told from two perspectives –
同時也是以兩個角度去討論稍縱即逝的夢想：
one is of failure and the other of resentment.”
一個是失敗，一個是怨恨"
而關於歌曲描述的情侶，John表示：
"The song is about a man who had given himself entirely,
這首歌是關於男人付出了他的一切後，
still desperately grasping at straws of success
依舊絕望地抓著通往成功的稻草不放，
and a woman left to pick up the pieces of the reality.”
而女人則是轉身離開去撿起現實的碎片。"
而數字8(figure eight)橫著看其實就是無限的符號∞
