老團The Pogues，

來自英國倫敦，

成立於1982年，

深受經典龐克團The Clash的影響，

在歌詞方面以政治性內容居多。

曲風為folk punk，

融合了punk rock與愛爾蘭傳統音樂，

可謂是folk punk的始祖團體。

至於什麼是folk rock呢，

簡單而言就是融合了傳統音樂的曲風，

例如融合了irish樂風的the pogues 和 flogging molly 還有against me，

另外融合了吉普賽樂風的Gogol Brodello也算，

而近年不少folk punk的好團也開始慢慢展露頭角，

可說floggling molly和Gogol Brodello的走紅功不可沒。

The Pogues在1991年時主唱Shane MacGowan因為酗酒問題而離團，

一直到1996年樂團解散，

而在2001年他們又重組再度表演，

但是到目前為止都沒有相關出片的計畫。

愛爾蘭傳統音樂的特色就是會有手風琴、小提琴、直笛

、Cittern、五弦琴Banjo和Mandolin。

豐富的樂器搭配上輕快的節奏，

再加上龐克搖滾的生鮮暢快，

以及主唱那濃濃的愛爾蘭口音唱腔，

實在十分有味道。

要說近年他們最紅的歌曲，

莫過於貫穿電影"P.S. I Love U"的主題曲"Love U Till the End"，

讓不少男男女女情不自禁地隨著歌曲和劇情掉淚啊!!
