這首歌收錄在Rise Against於2004年推出的"Siren Song Of The Counter Culture"，
Paper wings應該是參考了知名的希臘神話伊卡洛斯(Icarus)的故事，
故事中伊卡洛斯藉由父親的協助，
以蠟和羽毛製成的雙翼來逃離伊卡利亞島，
但最終因為太靠近太陽導致蠟翼融化而墜海身亡。
這首歌應該是敘事者想要鼓勵因為人生挫折而感到不知所措的朋友，
應該要先放下憂慮並想想自己達成的成就，
然後打起精神重新出發。
所以副歌中的:
