Real Friends於2010年成軍，
來自美國伊利諾伊州，
曲風橫跨Pop punk與EMO。
於2011年推出首張EP《This Is Honesty》，
並開始四處巡迴表演。
直到2013年簽入知名獨立廠牌Fearless後開始嶄露頭角，
並陸續於2014~2018年間推出三張專輯。

個人認識到他們是收錄在第三張專輯的"From the Outside"，
直到2020年初樂團無預警地刪除了所有社交平台上的貼文，
多數人都認為樂團即將解散，
儘管當時的主唱Lambton否認了此消息，
但到2月樂團便發文證實已經與Lambton分道揚鑣。
隔年RF轉與Pure Noise Records簽約，
並找來新主唱 Cody Muraro(原Youth Fountain & Parting Ways)，
於2021年9月發行EP《Tom in Two》，
並在今年2月發行了收錄此首歌曲的EP《There's Nothing Worse Than Too Late》。

關於這首歌樂團在貼文中表示：
"When You Were Here"講述的是對已經不在身邊的某人的複雜感受，
不論是出於他們的選擇或其他原因。
你試著相信在沒有他們的情況下你會好起來，
但是你對人生的樂觀信念並不像他們在你身邊時那樣強烈，
感覺就像當他們離開時，
也帶走了你的一部分。

很喜歡歌詞"The self pity I’ve got is like a broken cassette wrinkled tape of regret"，
用了非常有趣的方式來形容不間斷的自憐與說不出口的遺憾。

Konstantine是美國另類搖滾樂團Something Corporate的歌曲。
收錄在2000年的專輯"Ready... Break"中。
